About Me

My Dad and I after the Monarchs’ Calder Cup victory against the Utica Comets in 2015.

I grew up in New Hampshire rooting for the Manchester Monarchs, then the top affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings. After cheering Monarchs-alums-turned-Kings to Stanley Cup victories in 2012 and 2014, I decided I needed a new challenge (living on the East Coast and having to be at work everyday at 7am may have also played a role…)

The Islanders made their decision to move to Brooklyn at about the same time I did, so it seemed like the perfect timing to switch my affiliation.  Over the past two years, I’ve developed lots of respect for the Isles faithful but can’t help but wish more Brooklynites would give the team (and the sport) a chance. My hope is this blog will encourage all the hipsters and other hockey newbs in BK to give the Isles a shot.
